Social Justice Ministry

Faith in Action. Justice in Motion.

At South Euclid United Church of Christ, justice is not optional—it’s spiritual. In a world marked by inequality and systemic harm, we believe that neither ignorance nor inaction are acceptable responses for people of faith. Our Social Justice Ministry exists to mobilize our sacred community to understand, confront, and help dismantle injustice wherever it appears.

Our Mission

We help SEUCC act to bring about justice—in our city, our nation, and our world. Grounded in the gospel and inspired by the prophets, we empower our congregation to engage boldly in the issues that most impact our people and our neighborhoods. These include:

  • Voting rights and voter education
  • LGBTQ+ equity and inclusion
  • Economic justice and opportunity
  • Racial justice and dismantling systemic oppression

This ministry is driven by congregational mobilization—not just leadership at the top, but action throughout the community. We draw on the gifts, knowledge, and passion within our church while partnering with trusted, justice-oriented organizations already doing impactful work in the region. We aim to build power with the marginalized, not for them.

“What does the Lord require of you but to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God.” – Micah 6:8

Get Involved

Justice work is discipleship work. Whether you're brand new to activism or deeply engaged, there is a place for you to learn, grow, and lead in this ministry.

Thanks to the UCC Living Water Association, the SEUCC Justice Ministry has received a Community Engagement Grant to do a series of videos and blog posts about justice.  The goal is raise awareness among our congregation and its networks about current issues of social justice in the Greater Cleveland area and provide avenues to take action in partnership with justice-oriented local organizations.
